AT SIXES AND SEVENS world-premiered at the Hong Kong Fringe Club in January 1998 and was the first Not So Loud production for post-handover Hong Kong.

As author and director Tom Hope said at the time: ‘Our first show HOME RUN had two expatriates sharing a flat in Mid-Levels. This play has them sharing seats in the Hong Kong stadium. We wanted to move on and, well, basically, outdoors…’

The play tracks the less than predictable fortunes of SLIM and SHORTY and their respective teams (England and Hong Kong) as they learn to play up and play the game, with ANJI and DORIS adding spice to the terraces with their Carlsberg girl uniforms. But other time honoured rituals are to the fore, also. It didn’t seem right to have a play about the Sevens which didn’t have a streaker in it. Or two.

With a newly buffed-up script and super-charged cast, AT SIXES AND SEVENS is ready to get the punters standing with just one more Not So Loud everyday Hong Kong (English language) neo-realist tale of sex, drugs and variable sporting achievements, scheduled for the biggest comeback since, um, Rocky Balboa – catch it if you can!
